Camryn's Check Up at 10 Months

Camryn had her 10 month check up with Dr. Hannon on November 7th.  She didn't need any shots, but we did get her the first round of the flu vaccine shots.  This appointment should have been her 9 month check up, but we are a little behind.

Here were Camryn's stats:
Height:  27.75 inches (35th percentile)
Weight:  16lbs 3oz (10th percentile)

She's still pretty little but Dr. Hannon said that there was nothing to be concerned with and that she looked great!

Camryn is 10 Months

Here's what Camryn was up to over the last month (at 9 months old):
  • Started to get her 4th tooth on the top, giving her a total of 6 teeth
  • Started eating a lot more regular food - strawberries, rasberries, bananas, peas, potatoes, chicken
  • Is still a very happy baby but in the last month, she has started to make it known when she wants her mommy, wants out of the high chair, or wants to be held.  We've probably heard more crying when she was 9 months old than in her whole life!
  • We stopped giving her the reflux medicine while on vacation in Florida, and she rarely even spits up anymore
  • Camryn is really into pulling herself up on things, but hasn't taken any steps on her own
  • She loves to be sitting on the floor playing with toys or her sisters, but gets very mad at them when they try to move or pick her up
  • Her favorite place to stand up

We've always had the rule that if the girls did not eat their dinner, we would save it for them to eat at breakfast the next day.  It definitely isn't the "clean plate" rule, but it helps to make sure that the girls are attempting to eat their food and especially eating the healthy options.

We've always threatened the meal for breakfast but never had to actually institute it because the threat was always enough.  Taylor has NEVER eaten dinner for breakfast, she is our rule follower.  Addie decided one night at dinner that she didn't want to eat her chicken and vegetables and politely told us that she would save it for breakfast.  Oh boy, she's pushing the limit again!

Preschool Halloween Parties

Halloween was a very busy day!  Both Jason and I had to work and both girls had Halloween parties at school.  Since I was going to take off work to go to the school parties, I decided to not take the girls to Kraft's Halloween trick or treating.

The parties at school were a lot of fun for the girls but it was a little crazy for me!  I had to run between classes to make sure I wasn't missing the girls and their games.  It was a little challenging but I never missed a game so it all worked out!

Here are all the pictures from Addie's party:

Taylor had an exciting 5th birthday!  We started the day off with birthday Mickey Mouse pancakes!

Taylor then had preschool and was able to celebrate with her friends.  She said that she was special because usually the kids get White Cupcakes for their birthday, but Ms. Libby made her cupcakes with purple icing!  It's the little things, ha!

After preschool, we took Taylor to Chuck E. Cheese with her best friend from school, Annie.

After nap, Jason came home early so that we could celebrate with Taylor.  We surprised her with a Balance Bike for her birthday.  We hope that this bike will give her a little more confidence on the bike and will help her with the transition to a regular bike without training wheels.

Jason usually takes the girls to breakfast on their birthday, but he had 3 consecutive meetings that started at 8am on Wednesday, so he pushed the breakfast until Thursday.  Jason has always told Taylor that she could try coffee when she turned 5, so she got her first cup of decaf coffee at this breakfast!  She liked it but only drank a few sips of it (thankfully).

Taylor has also asked in the past about when she could get her ear's pierced, and we had always said when she turned 5 years old.  Little did we know that 5 would still seem too young to us and would come so quickly.  We will wait to see if she brings this up again.

One funny thing about Taylor's birthday week is that she KNEW that it was special.  We'd be going to dinner on a random day, and she'd say "do I get to pick where we get to eat since it is my birthday week?"  Or she'd tell Addie "I get to go first because it is my birthday week!"  Jason has already blamed me for this birthday diva personality, and I have NO IDEA what he is talking about!!!
