Arkansas Baseball Game

On Saturday night, we went with Paul and Sarah to dinner at Farrells then the Arkansas vs. A&M Baseball game.  Jason had gotten 4 tickets from his friend Brad to sit in his suite.  I had high hopes for the Aggies because they had beat the Razorbacks the night before, but ended up getting killed Saturday night!  However, watching the game from the suite was awesome!

Razorfest

We took the kids to Razorfest on Saturday and met up with the Calhoun family.  It was super crowded and the lines for things were ridiculously long, but we all still had fun!

Taylor was really upset that she didn't get to watch a football game, so she may have to make it to a game with Daddy during the upcoming football season.

Little Big Town Concert

On Friday night, we got two free tickets from General Mills to go see Little Big Town at the AMP in Fayetteville.  It was their Tornado Tour 2013.  The night before the concert, I got a call from Mark telling me that he got Jason and I back stage passes for a meet and greet before the concert!  Yeah!!!  This is why Jason likes to call my company "Generous" Mills, absolutely!!!
I took an illegal picture on my phone before meeting them

Ready to watch the concert

Not the best seats, but it was an enjoyable concert!

Community Group Event at The Monkey House

Since we started our own Community Group with the Calhouns this past January, we've been trying to come up with an event that we could do with our families.  After our detour to The Monkey House on Easter, I negotiated a deal with them to let our Community Group have the whole place to ourselves for an event!  Here are some pictures from this past Sunday night:

Marriage Retreat Weekend

For the last three years, we've done a weekend away with Eddie and Judy Parish.  The first year, we went by ourselves to their hermitage in Louisiana.  Last year, we met up with them and a larger group  in Austin Texas.  And this year, we went to Gravette Arkansas for a marriage retreat of counseling and fellowship with friends.  This year by far was our favorite year!  We still got the great one on one marriage counseling with Eddie, but we also were able to enjoy an incredible place in Arkansas with amazing friends!

The actual location for the weekend was at the private Spring Valley Anglers Club.  We had no idea that something this cool existed close to our home.  The log cabins were located on a private river where the scenery was breath taking!  Jason was in absolute heaven to be there because we were able to fly fish on the river!  Fishing is one of his favorite hobbies, and this was actually his first time to try fly fishing.
Beautiful scenery

Eddie & Judy Parish are so stinkin' cool!  God has given them both an incredible gift to help people.  Even if our marriage is doing well, it is still so refreshing to hear their perspective and to refocus our attention together to the right place!

We had great fellowship with friends over the weekend too.  I didn't take enough pictures, but we had so much fun with the other couples that spent the weekend with us - Lindsay and Mark Mast, Ross and Kate Cully & Jordan and Mandy Eoff.  We celebrated Lindsay's birthday on Friday and then also had the Spichers join us for dinner on Saturday which was a fun addition!

Jason enjoyed fly fishing everyday we were there, and I even went with him on Saturday!  I didn't catch anything but did get 2 bites.  I enjoyed fly fishing, it was a really neat experience and was a lot less boring than just sitting in a boat waiting for a fish to bite.  Jason actually did really well and caught a 3 pound Rainbow Trout which is pretty big for that river (or so Ross told us).

All suited up

Ross and Kate were our fly fishing buddies

He really learned the form very quickly

The line actually broke at the end but Ross got it just in time

That thing was so slippery and big, he had a hard time picking it up for me

He held it wrong so it doesn't look as big as it was

I'm really trying!

Those weighters were super cute!  Ha!

Ross caught one too!

Even Eddie & Judy got in a little fishing

This was our first time to be away overnight from all three kids and we were even gone two full nights!  My mom actually took care of them by herself and did awesome!  She even got to see Camryn's first roll over from back to front!  We were very thankful to her for allowing us some time away to focus on growing and strengthening our marriage!  It was a wonderful weekend!!!!
